The HBL8443UC is an 800 Series 30 inch single wall oven with a 4.6 cubic foot cavity, Home Connect, a soft-close door and 5,000 watts. The soft-close door is the feature that most distinguishes an 800 Series wall oven in daily use, and it is also a mechanism – a damper in the hinge assembly that slows the last part of the travel. When a soft-close door starts slamming, the damper has failed rather than the hinge, and it is replaced as part of the hinge assembly.
