What Er:05 Means
Er:05 on a Bosch front-load washer means the water temperature sensor circuit is open. Both service documents agree on the causes: a damaged NTC sensor or a break in the cable to it. The Vision manual's remedies are correspondingly simple, repair the cable break or replace the sensor, and it points technicians at the heater test programme to confirm.

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
There is no home test, but the symptom is worth confirming: run a hot wash and feel the door glass after twenty minutes. Glass that stays cool through a programme that should be hot supports the diagnosis.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The NTC is mounted in the heater assembly at the bottom rear of the drum, surrounded by the water it measures.
- Reaching it means taking off the rear panel of a machine that has to be pulled out from under a counter with hoses attached.
- The sensor terminals sit alongside the heating element connections, which carry mains voltage during a wash.
- Bosch's own procedure repairs the cable before replacing the sensor, and buying the part first often solves nothing.
