What Er:02 Means
Er:02 on a Bosch Nexxt or Vision front-load washer means the door lock refused to release at the end of a cycle. Bosch's service table gives the causes as a jammed lock or a bad wire harness. It is the code behind the most frustrating washer fault there is, a machine that has finished its cycle with the laundry sealed inside.
Common Causes of Er:02
- Door lock mechanism jammed internally
- Wiring harness to the lock damaged or loose
- Lock solenoid failed in the engaged position
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Leave the machine powered for several minutes after the cycle ends, because most Bosch door locks release on a timer once the drum has stopped and no water pressure is sensed. If it is still locked after that, switch off at the breaker for ten minutes and try again.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Forcing a locked washer door tears the latch out of the front panel and usually damages the door hinge as well.
- There may still be water in the drum, and a door forced open releases it across the floor in one go.
- The lock assembly is reached through the front panel beside the door seal, which has to be removed and correctly refitted.
- A lock replaced when the harness was the fault leaves you with the same jammed door and a new part in it.
