What Er:11 Means
Er:11 on a Bosch front-load washer means no water arrived within six minutes of the machine asking for it. Bosch's documented causes are a faulty inlet valve, a faulty wire harness and a problem in the hose, and the Vision manual's remedy list starts at the water supply itself before reaching the appliance.
Common Causes of Er:11
- Supply tap closed or partly closed
- Inlet hose filter screen blocked with scale or grit
- Inlet valve coil failed or its harness broken
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check both taps behind the machine are fully open, then close them, unscrew the inlet hoses and rinse the filter screens in the couplings. A blocked screen is the single most common reason a healthy supply reads as no water at all.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If the screens and taps are clear, the remaining checks are live voltage readings at the valve while it is being told to open.
- Undoing an inlet hose without closing the tap sprays mains-pressure water across the back of a machine full of electronics.
- A hose coupling cross-threaded on refitting weeps quietly behind the machine for weeks before anyone notices.
- Valve coils are tested against a published resistance, and without that figure a working valve is easily condemned.
