What E115 Means
E115 is the runaway-heat protection. The cavity has gone above the temperature Bosch allows while the door is unlocked, so the oven stops heating and locks the door itself. Heating resumes, the latch releases and the error clears once the temperature comes back into range. The suggested actions name a stuck relay and element operation, which is to say the oven was heating when nothing asked it to.

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn the oven off at the breaker rather than only at the controls, and leave it off until a technician has seen it. A stuck heating relay keeps an element energised regardless of what the front panel says, and the control panel is not a reliable way to stop that.

- A relay stuck closed means an element that is live no matter what the display shows, which is precisely why the breaker rather than the knob is the right way to stop it.
- The oven locked its own door because the cavity was outside the safe range, and that door will be extremely hot.
- Bosch's action list covers the element, the sensor and the relays, and telling them apart needs measurements taken on a dead appliance.
- Running the oven again to see whether it repeats is inviting the same uncontrolled heating in an unattended kitchen.
