What E010 Means
E010 is the data-memory equivalent of the program-memory fault: the oven's routine check of stored settings failed, or a write to that memory did not complete. Bosch again disables all heating elements when it happens, and again notes that the error is cancelled at start-up if the next check succeeds. The stored data here is your settings and calibration rather than the operating program itself.
Common Causes of E010
- Stored settings memory in the user interface corrupted
- Write to memory interrupted by a power interruption
- Failing memory device on the interface board
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Power down at the breaker for two minutes, then check whether your clock, temperature offset and any saved preferences survived. Settings that have reverted to defaults are a useful sign that the memory really did lose its contents.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- This code and its companion on the control module look identical from the front panel but need different parts, so the diagnosis has to be made before anything is ordered.
- With heating disabled there is no way to test whether the repair worked other than by completing it first.
- Reaching the interface board means sliding a heavy built-in oven out of its cabinet, which is a two-person job in a tight opening.
- A board handled without static precautions can be damaged on the bench before it is ever fitted.
