Bosch lists the NIT5060UC as a 500 Series 30 inch induction cooktop on the same 31 inch glass as its connected sibling, without Wi-Fi. Every induction cooktop has a cooling fan under the glass looking after the power electronics, and that fan needs air. Anything that boxes the underside in – a drawer full of tea towels, a shelf fitted too close, insulation packed around the cabinet – will eventually cause the cooktop to throttle back or shut a zone down to protect itself.
