The HGI8046UC is the black stainless version of Bosch’s 800 Series gas slide-in: five burners, 71,000 BTU and a 4.8 cubic foot oven. Slide-in ranges put their controls on a front fascia below the cooktop, which is more convenient than reaching over hot pans – and it also means the control panel sits directly above the oven door where heat rises when the door is opened. Knob and display faults on slide-ins are more often heat-related than they are on freestanding ranges with rear controls.
