Maintenance & Care

How to Maintain Your Bosch Induction Cooktop for Long-Term Performance

Induction cooktops need less maintenance than gas or coil electric, but a few habits go a long way toward preventing overheating faults.

Induction cooktops are lower-maintenance than gas or traditional electric coil cooktops, but a small amount of routine care meaningfully extends their life and prevents avoidable service calls.

Keep the Ventilation Space Clear

Bosch induction cooktops require clear airflow underneath the unit to cool their internal electronics. Avoid storing items in the cabinet or drawer directly beneath the cooktop that could restrict this space — blocked ventilation is a leading cause of the E7015 overheating error code.

Clean the Glass Surface Correctly

Use a dedicated ceramic/induction cooktop cleaner rather than abrasive pads, which can scratch the glass surface and make it more vulnerable to cracking or chipping over time.

Use Compatible Cookware

Induction requires magnetic cookware to function. Non-magnetic pans won’t heat and can sometimes trigger error displays that look like a fault but are actually a cookware-compatibility issue.

Give It a Cooldown Period

Extended use at maximum power without a break is one of the more common triggers for overheating protection. If you regularly cook long, high-heat sessions, brief pauses between pots help the internal electronics stay within normal operating range.

If you’ve confirmed ventilation and cookware and still see overheating faults, it’s time for a cooktop repair visit.
