What Er:10 Means
Er:10 on a Bosch Nexxt front-load washer means the flow meter is returning values the control cannot make sense of. The flow meter is a small turbine in the water inlet that counts water entering the machine, which is how the washer knows how much it has taken rather than how long the valve was open. Bosch's documented causes are a faulty flow meter or a faulty wire harness.

- Flow meter turbine obstructed or worn
- Wire harness to the flow meter faulty
- Debris from the supply reaching the inlet assembly
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Close the taps, unscrew the inlet hoses at the tap end and rinse the small filter screens in the couplings. Grit reaching the flow meter is a common precursor to it reporting oddly, and cleaning the screens is the part of this you can do.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The flow meter sits in the inlet assembly on the pressurised side of the machine, so removing it without closing the taps floods the back of the cabinet.
- The turbine inside is small and light, and a bent vane makes a cleanable part into a replacement.
- Refitting the assembly with the flow direction reversed produces a different and much more confusing fault.
- Bosch's own test programme drives the valves to check the meter, which fills the drum and is not a casual thing to trigger.
