E:26 records a fault in the wiring between the power module and the water switch, the motorised diverter that decides which spray arm is being fed. Bosch notes that this code does not appear during a wash; it is stored and read back through the service test programme. The documented repair is the harness rather than the diverter or the board.

- Harness between water switch and power module chafed or broken
- Connector at the diverter loose or corroded

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Since this code is only visible in the machine's fault memory, there is no home check. What is worth noting is whether one rack has been coming out less well cleaned than the other, because that is the practical effect of a diverter the control cannot steer reliably.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- This harness runs along the base of the machine beside the sump, so tracing it means the dishwasher comes out of its housing with the water and drain lines still connected.
- A break that only shows up when the machine vibrates is the hardest kind to find, and it will not reveal itself to a static continuity test.
- Bosch's own first step is to run the service test programme, which is not a mode to enter by guesswork.
- The neighbouring connectors on the module carry line voltage, and mistaking one for another while tracing wires is how a low-risk fault becomes a dangerous one.
