What Er:07 Means
Er:07 on a Bosch front-load washer means the water temperature rose when the control had not switched the heater on. Both service documents give the same two causes: a damaged heater, typically one leaking to earth, or a heater relay stuck closed on the control board. The Vision manual's remedies are to check the heater for a short to earth and replace it, or to replace the control.

- Heater relay welded closed on the control module
- Control module fault switching the heater circuit
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Stop using the machine and switch it off at the breaker rather than only at the controls. A relay stuck closed keeps the heating element energised regardless of the programme, and the front panel is not a reliable way to stop that.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- One documented cause is an element short to earth, which is current finding a path through a metal appliance full of water.
- A stuck relay means the heater can be live independently of the controls, so the breaker is the correct way to make the machine safe.
- Distinguishing a faulty element from a stuck relay needs an insulation test, which is a different instrument from a household multimeter.
- The element terminals sit at the bottom rear of the tub, reached only with the machine pulled out and the rear panel off.
