What E:03 Means
E:03 means the power module has measured its own temperature above the limit Bosch sets for it, which on this platform is nearly always traced to the mains connection rather than to the wash system. The service action is to inspect the power cord plug where it lands on the module and where it lands at the wall outlet, and to replace cord and module together if either shows heat damage.
Common Causes of E:03
- Loose or corroded plug connection carrying heat into the module
- Damaged or undersized power cord
- Power module overheating from an internal fault
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Switch the dishwasher off at the breaker first, then look at the wall outlet and plug for discolouration, a melted face or a scorched smell. A connection hot enough to log this code is a connection worth an electrician's eyes, not another cycle.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A connection that has been running hot can keep heating after the fault clears, which is a fire concern rather than a wash-quality one.
- Bosch pairs the repair, replacing cord and module together, because a cord damaged by heat usually took the module's terminal with it.
- The module terminal block is the one point in the machine carrying full line current, so any probing has to happen with the breaker off and confirmed dead.
- Discoloured contacts can look acceptable and still have lost their spring tension, which a visual check alone will not reveal.
